From Baltimore to Phoenix

This summer 2018 has been huge for me.

For years I’d casually tell my friends and family: “I’m moving out west someday, probably to Phoenix…”

This summer I finally did it 🙂

It rains a lot in Baltimore, a lot. It’s also very mild during the summer. Too mild. It was time to go…

As I told you before I deleted my Twitter and Facebook. To make this move work I didn’t need or want random peanut gallery comments and observations from “friends”. I went zero dark thirty on this one…besides Instagram. I soft posted my move on there….

The trip was in three phases:

Phase one was early June. I flew out to Phoenix with plans to maybe visit Vegas and LA if I didn’t LOVE Phoenix the way I thought I would. I stayed 4 days in hotels. Needless to say I loved Phoenix…

Phase 2 was mid-July. I drove the newer of my 2 cars to Phoenix and rented a condo within 72 hours of my arrival.

The flat majesty of middle America…

Phase 3 was in mid-August. After working and buying furniture for maybe 3 weeks I flew back to dreary-ass Baltimore and collected the rest of my tech, as well as my older car and my beloved Harley-Davidson, which I towed.

Both cross country drives took me roughly 3 days and I did 2 of them in one month. Tough guy status.

Now I’m all settled and stuff and looking forward to spending the balance of my years in sunny, dry, hot-ass Phoenix.

I hope you guys had a good summer, even though I’m sure you didn’t get busy like I did. I was on a mission!

West!

Big summer planned as I am making a move out west to the desert! Photos galore coming and many crazy stories about my journey.

Understanding a Dance Recital….

I’m still puzzled by Jiren’s power levels and what I still don’t know the hell Ultra Instinct is. Also… 17 was the MVP.

Oh…am I talking Dragonball Super Again?

Modern dance is something I could not tolerate when I was younger. I didn’t get it. I think wisdom comes with age as they say.

I still rock my Canon 5d Mark III for pro work. Hopefully the Canon Full Frame mirrorless will have a native EF mount.

The Dance Concert was at Patapsco High School in Dundalk, Maryland….

8  Drinks To Go With Your Fave Netflix Series

All you want to do after a tiring day at work is to laze around, relax, put on your night suit and watch your favorite netflix show. Can it get any better than this? Certainly not. How about spicing up your night with a peg of whiskey? You wouldn’t want to miss out on that for sure.

To enhance your experience, we have rounded up 8 drinks that will pair up best while you’re watching your loved netflix show.

1. House of Cards:

If you have been following up house of cards full fledgedly, you know how serious and intense this show is. It has some critical characters, role plays and story and has some realistic as well as scary scenes. We need a serious and strong drink to go along with this show.

You can opt for a strong and full bodied whiskey like Sunset Rum with it. You can also pair some cheddar cheese with it to delight in the show.

2. Wet Hot American Summer:

Throughout the show, you see that alcohol plays a focal role. It is all about chilling and keeping it light in this show. So, a simple drink like Blended Whiskey is just right for this one.

Open up the fridge on a warm day, pick your favorite whiskey and lie on your couch while watching this show. Oh yes, and not to forget eating some spicy spaghetti.

3. Love:

It is the story of a pretty woman who meets a nerdy guy and they fall into something similar to like that of a relationship. It involves a lot of drinks, lots of messaging and erotic scenes. The latest of Judd Apatow needs a lot of cheap and white bubble and all sorts of that.

To boost up the excitement of the show, you can go for a sparkling whiskey cocktail. It is such an amazing drink that you wouldn’t mind gulping too much of it, similar to what the lead actress would do.

4. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt:

We know what you’re thinking about! But no, it is not oh-so-easy Pinot Noir! Titus loves it but we have something different in store for you.

Try drinking malt whisky with it. You will indeed love it. So why don’t you gulp it in with your best friends along and hit the couch and bed.

5. Orange is the new black:

Most fans of this series will consider a Screwdriver to be an ideal match, this series of dark comedy requires something which is not very conventional. You don’t have to restrict yourself to the Poussey’s prison hooch unlike the ladies in the prison with low security in the series who can’t really gratify their yearning for the drink.

You can rather go for a meow cocktail with ingredients like peanut butter, cinnamon and whiskey that will make you hear the cry similar to the character of the lead actor Piper Chapman, sweet at the beginning and then wild later.

6. Grace and Frankie:

If you’re watching Grace and Frankie, you will get the imagination of how you and your friends will be in late years of your life. You will be the oldies, drinking at the bar and creating a chaos.

One of the best whisky cocktails to go around with this show is a classic margarita to relish the excitement of the show.

7. Fuller house:

It’s about a whole lot of people who reunite at the old family house. The characters like Stephanie and Kimmy are enough to watch this show. It has amazing instances of jokes and teachings to absorb you.

The perfect tipple to drink during the show is Corn Whiskey that is very light, refreshing and is ideal for all the age groups.

8. Sherlock:

Sherlock is very smart, witty and has got intensively amazing analytical skills. To go along with such a sharp man, we need an intense drink too.

You can pair a sharp whisky cocktail like wake up call cocktail with the tanginess of lime and mint to applaud the sharp man. The gin content in the drink makes it even stronger.

6 Cool Tips To Style A Crisp White Shirt

When it comes to wardrobe essentials, a classic white button-down should be at the top of every woman’s list. You can dress down or dress up your white shirt with ease. Trends come and go, but the versatility and elegance of the white shirt is perpetual.

Trust me, there are myriad ways on how to make this beautiful top look awesome on you.

1. Wear It With Denim

The most basic way to wear a white shirt is with denim. Front tuck your white shirt into jeans and pair it with killer heels. Finish off with bandana or a bold statement necklace. Try the season’s hottest flared jeans or a lighter bleached look for summer months. You can also wear it with a denim skirt. Pair it with sneakers for a fun, casual look.

2. Layer It

Wear your white shirt underneath a sweater or a sleeveless vest. Pull the hem out and and keep your collar out for a casual daytime look. You can also wear it under a crop top.

Wear it underneath a strappy dress or jumpsuit to smarten it up. Liven up your outfit with bold colours and patterns. Be as daring as you like- nothing clashes with a white shirt. To tone down a naval-grazing neckline, slip a sexy black dress over a classic oxford shirt.

3. Work Outfit

Wear your white shirt to office. Go all white with a silk pleated midi skirt and a white button-down pairing. Pair with a neutral coloured heels for a sophisticated look. With a classic black suit, fold your shirting cuffs over your blazer. Add a pair of colorful heels to brighten up your otherwise black ensemble.

Tuck a crisp white button-down into an ultra-high waist skirt and finish it off with a belt. Slip into a pair of pointed-toe heels to stay chic and comfortable all day long.

4. Add A Corset

Wear a corset over you white shirt to take it to a whole new level. Wear it over a longer length shirt as a t-shirt dress or add on a short mini skirt and complete the look with thigh high boots. Try with jeans if you are not comfortable with the super mini look.

You can wear a corset of a solid color, a steel- boned corset or something in print. The corset will make your torso look cinched in and your waist thinner.

5. Belt It

Wear you white shirt over a skirt and add a belt on your natural waist to define your figure. Sometimes a tucked in shirt can be messy with a fabric skirt. Hide the lumps with a wide, obi belt.

Turn your shirt into a dress and  pair it with a thin brown braided belt.

6. All Leather Everything

Wear your white shirt with a leather skirt and tall leather boots. You can try adding a belt or tying a knot at your waist for a more daytime look. A super simple and elegant look is a crisp white shirt with your leather pants and a pair of heels.

Let out your inner fashionista by matching contrasting colours, such as black and white. Keep it simple and casual by combining a black cropped leather jacket over an oversized white shirt.

Shoots

It’s getting cold as hell. Well, as cold as someplace beneath hell maybe….

I have an upcoming shoot with a few model friends where I also intend on taking some promo shots of myself. Fun times. Stay tuned.

Why I Hate Photographer Meetups…

2UPD0370.jpg

Every time I see a majority of old white men in one place I get uneasy….

It’s a power thing. It’s a “my great-grandparents were lynched” thing. It’s a money thing, meaning I’m broke. It’s a racism thing, they don’t want me there and it’s obvious.

So when I walked into a local photographer/model meet at greet at a semi-popular warehouse last Saturday, I was immediately put off by the number of silver haired white men with big cameras I saw.

The problem with photographer/model meet ups is you get maybe a 40:1 ratio of photographers to models. You get huge “mines are bigger than yours” lighting setups popping off constantly. Randomly. You get a bunch of leery men rushing over to photograph an amateur model who just switched to her racy mini-dress, fishnet stockings, and heels number….

DSCF5391.jpg

You get paparazzi practice basically. This is how TMZ should train their photogs. Send them to local photographer/models meets and greets.

How is it a meet and greet when the models are wary and hostile and the photographers look at me, a black man, as if I’m there to steal their gear or something? If I want to get rejected by a model I’ll go on Model Mayhem thank you very much. No need to get dissed in person after I paid an entrance fee. If I want to know where I stand with old white men I’ll check our President’s Twitter feed….

I will never understand why these photographers clamor to get the exact same shot 32 other guys are getting….

_MX40179.jpg

My homie said when he goes to these events he doesn’t even bring his camera. I see why. Next time (as if I’ll ever go to another one again and waste $25 bucks)…. next time I’ll bring a blunt and a beer and maybe my business cards.

Exit.
